New opportunities to Pinterest and Facebook

Big data are the very foundation of the social media business, and Pinterest is no exception. Fundamental algorithms that make Pinterest-in successful and amusing and you suggest the new posts based on those you loved before, are an example of large databases that are in our interest. But now, writes Forbes, Pinterest is taking this research to another level. The social network has just released a new feature called "Guided Search", a visual search tool that enables users to select a number of photos and ask for
other similar pictures with him. In collaboration with members of the "Berkeley Vision and Learning Center" Pinter uses a machine that learns to know the details of the picture, based on their data from billions posts. These details are then used to create similarities between the two pictures. The result is that if you shhihni a lamp that you like in a post in the living room, you can select the lamp and look for similar lamps and to buy it.
